Culture
Founded between 1926 and 1928 on a patch of land entirely to be
reclaimed, Arborea is, today, a town of approximately 4000 inhabitants,
scattered from the historical center to the various communicating
roads.
Colonized by entrepreneurs from Vicenza, Friuli, and Emilia that
reclaimed the land, the town retains a retraceable multicultural
tradition, apparent even in the various spoken dialects that all
have their own varying idiom.
In an attempt to conserve this tradition, the Council of Arborea
sustains, throughout all seasons, numerous cultural projects and
culinary expressions hosting typical products of various regions.
The present landscape fans out along well kept fields, bordered
by lines of eucalyptus and poplars.
Besides cultivating cereals, horticultural products, watermelons,
and strawberries, there is production of wine, and a gastronomy
noted for its excellent roasts and mullet.
Over the years Arborea has significantly grown in tourism, not
only for its history and its testimonies thereof, but also for
its enchanting beaches, and, above all, for the people’s
hospitality.
