Itineraries
The vicinity of places with great cultural and panoramical interest
render Camping S’Ena Arrubia an excellent base for the many
splendid excursions possible in Sardinia.
Two kilometers from the camping you can visit the town of Arborea.
Founded in 1930, it maintains, in its architecture and artistical
expressions, the neo-gothical and art-deco style from that period
of time.
In front of the enchanting garden, located in Piazza Maria Ausiliatrice,
the Tirolean church of Cristo Redentore rises in its total uniqueness.
In the same square you can find the City Hall, that harbours all
the archaeological findings of the surrounding area.
All these historical beauties are embedded in the enchanting pinewood of Arborea,
close to which you can find the inland waters of Sassu, spanning approximately
300 hectares. Fed by manmade aquaducts, it is the favorite destination for
giant flocks of pink flamingoes and other water birds that are protected
species now.
Towards the south other lakes can be found, amongst which that
of Marceddì, richest in fish of all in Sardinia. From here
you can also reach the lake Corru de S’Ittiri to continue
afterwards towards the promontory of Corru Mannu.
The enchanting scenery is enlivened by the numerous fests and popular
festivities during which, especially in summer, one can taste local
delicacies.
